Curriculum

8 sessions, one build in each

3 modules · 8 sessions · 4 hands-on projects

PART 1AI Chatbots for Finance & Accounting WorkSessions 1–2

Chatbot Landscape & Tool Selection

  • Comparative strengths for finance work: number reasoning, long-document reading, formula generation, tabular output
  • Free versus paid tiers; a workflow that needs no international payment card
  • Which tool for a tax circular, which for a formula, which for a board note
  • Bangla versus English output quality; when to draft in English and translate

Prompt Engineering Fundamentals

  • The four-part structure: role, context, task, output format
  • Role prompting — acting as a financial controller, tax consultant or internal auditor
  • Giving the model your chart of accounts, entity structure and reporting period as context
  • Controlling output: table, journal-entry format, bullet memo, executive summary

Advanced Prompting for Numerical Work

  • Few-shot prompting: teaching the model your own voucher narration and note-disclosure style
  • Step-by-step reasoning for multi-part tasks such as deferred tax or lease computation
  • Constraint prompting: what to include, what to exclude, what to never assume
  • Chained prompts — breaking a month-end review into a sequence of checks
  • Why a chatbot is unreliable as a calculator, and how to use it as a method generator instead

Confidentiality & Verification Discipline (Core)

  • What must never be pasted: bank credentials, BIN and TIN with names, salary registers, unpublished results, customer lists, LC and pricing terms
  • Masking and anonymising before prompting; safe versus unsafe finance use cases
  • Hallucination in a regulatory context — invented section numbers, wrong rates, fabricated citations
  • The verification rule: every figure, date, rate and legal reference confirmed against source
  • Price-sensitive information and listed-company obligations

Day 3 afternoon
Applied across every session

Responsible & Ethical AI in Finance

Confidentiality & Data Classification

  • Classifying finance data: public, internal, confidential, restricted
  • What never leaves the building, what can be masked, what is safe

Accuracy, Verification & the Audit Trail

  • Professional responsibility does not transfer to a tool
  • Keeping a record of prompts, outputs and the human review applied

Independence & Professional Judgement

  • Where AI supports judgement and where it substitutes for it — and why the second is a failure
  • Materiality, going concern, provisioning and estimation stay human

Fraud Risk & Control Implications

  • New fraud vectors: AI-generated fake invoices, deepfake payment instructions, spoofed vendor emails
  • Why "the CEO emailed me urgently" needs a callback protocol

Workforce Impact & Honest Communication

  • Talking to a finance team about AI without triggering job-loss fear
  • Reskilling and role redesign as AI absorbs routine processing work

Building Your AI Use Policy

  • Approved tools, acceptable use and prohibited data categories
  • Disclosure rules: when AI involvement must be stated
Outcomes

By the end, your team can

  • Choose the right AI tool and write prompts that work first time
  • Maintain a prompt library covering your repeated finance tasks
  • Clean and reconcile messy ledger, bank and vendor data in a fraction of the time
  • Produce an MIS pack with commentary you can defend line by line
  • Draft SOPs, policies and compliance documentation to a professional standard
  • Build and deploy automations using Make, Apps Script and the Gemini API
  • Write Apps Script for your own spreadsheets without a coding background
  • Apply confidentiality, verification and control standards to every AI-assisted step

And leaves with

A reusable cleaning, reconciliation and MIS template set
A grounded finance policy assistant your colleagues can use
A compliance and expiry alert engine that reaches the right owner
An expense and approval workflow running in your own Google account
An invoice extraction pipeline feeding your books
A written AI use policy for your own finance department
